Practice Management Seminar
LOS recently held a seminar in Lafayette on May 14th. Tom Barr, MBA, and Elaine Towle, CMPE, delivered information on "Adapting to Medicare," "Organizing for Service Line Expansion," and "Generating Practice Efficiencies." The seminar addressed physicians as well as practice managers. Evaluations from attendees returned positive results. Click here to view the slides from the presentation.
LOS will work on developing more seminars throughout the year geared towards physicians, practice managers, and nurses. Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Off-Label Approval
On May 26th, some members of LOS participated in a conference call with Mary Malloy of the Michigan Society of Hematology and Oncology (MSHO) to discuss their model for "Off-Label Approval." Other topics discussed included how to improve membership numbers, who to include in membership, and different ideas for future meeting topics. LOS will work toward implementing some of these ideas. LOS will take part of organizing a State Oncology Regional Meeting for the fall. Participants of this meeting will be from the states covered under Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas as their Medicare Carrier. More information will follow at a later date.
