Louisiana Oncology Society was incorporated on September 1, 1992. The Society has an annual meeting jointly with the Mississippi Society of Oncology in Natchez, MS. The meeting consists of speakers to update oncologists on different new treatment approaches. We also discuss reimbursement issues. Louisiana Oncology Society has representation, from its membership, on the Medicare Advisory Committee as well as a representative on the Specialty Committee of the Louisiana State Medical Society.
